渋紙張りの古備前 広口甕
江戸前期 (17世紀前〜中期)推定

甕の内側には、漆継ぎによる修復跡を見ることができる
漆継ぎに加え、補強と装飾を兼ねたのか、細竹を口の下側に2本、
胴に1本巻き、甕の横筋の凹凸がわかるように、渋紙を丁寧に貼って仕上げている

木蓋(台)は江戸後期〜明治初期
渋紙の状態から、修復もその頃に為されたものか。
渋紙自体の経年変化が生み出す表情も面白く、湿度によって色合いが変化する様が楽しめる。
